Makers create executable liquidity by minting complete sets and signing limit orders for either outcome. Minting is not a yield-generating deposit: the UP and DOWN shares of a set always redeem for exactly the collateral you locked, in total. Your edge, if any, comes only from the prices at which you sell or buy shares.
